By creating an account and using LUMENIRO, you agree to these Terms. Please read them. They are written in plain language on purpose.
LUMENIRO is a personal productivity and thinking tool. It is software that helps you capture ideas, reflect on decisions, set goals, and engage in structured reasoning through an AI conversation interface.
LUMENIRO is NOT a medical device, mental health service, therapy tool, crisis service, or professional advisor of any kind. Nothing LUMEN says constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other professional advice. Do not rely on LUMEN for decisions that require professional expertise. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a crisis line or qualified professional immediately.
LUMENIRO is categorised as productivity software — equivalent to a smart journal, note-taking app, or personal knowledge management tool. The AI is a thinking prompt and reflection aid, not a therapist, counsellor, or coach.
To use LUMENIRO you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm you meet this requirement.
You own everything you write, say, or create within LUMENIRO. Your conversation content, journal entries, goals, and ideas are yours.
By using LUMENIRO, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you — for example, sending messages to the AI to generate responses. We do not claim ownership of your content and will never use it for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
You agree not to use LUMENIRO to:
LUMENIRO's AI responses are generated by a large language model (GPT-4o via OpenAI's API). AI-generated content can be incorrect, incomplete, or misleading. You are solely responsible for how you act on anything LUMEN says. We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI responses for any particular purpose.
LUMENIRO's memory system stores summaries and extracts from your conversations to personalise future sessions. This memory is not perfect — it may miss things, mischaracterise things, or surface outdated information. Treat it as a helpful prompt, not a reliable record.
We aim to keep LUMENIRO available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any loss caused by service unavailability.
LUMENIRO is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We will notify users of significant changes where possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LUMENIRO and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or harm resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of LUMENIRO shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. As LUMEN is currently free, this means our liability is zero.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We may update these Terms. We will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
